INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

One-on-one sessions with a therapist designed to help work through a variety of
personal issues that influence an individual’s well-being.

A collaborative process between a therapist and an individual in therapy. Individuals seek therapy to work through painful or distressing issues (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and behavioral) that are difficult to handle alone. They can explore their beliefs, feelings, and behaviors, identify parts of their lives that they desire to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward a desired change. The therapist can help identify underlying causes of symptoms and offer strategies for changing undesirable thoughts and behaviors. Individuals can utilize these strategies to manage symptoms, alleviate stress, and enhance their overall quality of life. Individual therapy is also referred to as therapy, talk therapy, psychosocial therapy, psychotherapy, and counseling.
